Calling yourself an Animal Welfare Shelter: the latest fraud in the dog disposal industry.

The Cowichan Pound calls itself an "Animal Shelter", but don't tell that to the dogs and all the other animals being led away to be killed. A "shelter" is not a place that kills the sheltered. End of sentence. This is fraud and it is being practiced everywhere now, as the newest p.r. spin in the pet disposal industry. The Vancouver City Pound carries this fraud a step further by calling itself an Animal Shelter when it only impounds dogs. Where are the other species of animals that its friendly new name suggests? And it kills some dogs, so it is not even a dog shelter.

Here is the contact info for the North Cowichan pound:

The Cowichan Valley Animal Shelter has provided animal control services and pound facilities for North Cowichan since 1975. The Animal Shelter is located at 2202 Herd Road, North Cowichan, BC, and can be reached at (250) 748-3395. The mailing address is: Box 519, Duncan, BC, V9L 3X9. The Animal Shelter is open to the public Monday to Friday: 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday: 10 am to 4pm (closed Sundays and Holidays).

But don't bother to complain to these people, they don't give a damn. They used to electrocute dogs to death. Once the machine is paid off the electricity is almost free and any bozo can zap a dog so there is no need of vets. Look at what the electrothanator is like and you'll have to agree, no one who could do this to dogs year in and year out cares what bleeding heart dog-lovers think. http://www.animaladvocates.com/spca-electrothanator-history.htm

If you object to this bottom-line killing, write your newspapers, and the mayor and council of all the municipalities that contract with this outfit.
