The mandate of the BCSPCA and the business plan of a highly successful and expanding pet shop

The information in this post refers to the most disheartening, irresponsible and unthinkable plan of action by the BCSPCA which has come to my attention in recent years. The planned alliance, for any purpose, which will exist and be visible between the Society which exists to prevent animal cruelty and pet overpopulation and a thriving business which has a clearly stated business plan to greatly increase its marketable product and profit, is in my opinion, the last turn in the road toward the destruction of the BCSPCA as it currently exists. The mandate of the BCSPCA and the business plan of a highly successful and expanding pet shop, cannot and must not be linked to each other in any conceivable way.To do so, is to strike the final blow which will permanently scar any integrity, honesty and transparency which the BCSPCA may have managed to uphold throughout it's now longstanding period of chaos.

Regrettably, it is not we, the recipients of this disturbing news, who have fallen off the turnip truck. The fallen are the creators of the news themselves. It is time to wipe away the tangled web entirely which grew rapidly and widely due to the frantic and repetitive efforts of the BCSPCA to save itself without really changing.

A clean slate and a fresh start is needed. Will that process necessitate "out with the old and in with the new" ? I believe that it will. No change brings no change, regardless of the angle you view the situation from. Neither does change come through chaos. It is only when someone calls a firm and final halt to the chaos that change and rebuilding can begin. Who that "someone" will be and what the rebuilding must look like are huge unknowns at this point. What is known is the enormity of the challenge and the necessity of someone rising to it. The voiceless, helpless victims of the chaos which has existed far too long, deserve the rewards that only change can bring.
