We can now add Baby Hound Jackson in the Vernon Branch but with few details and no picture available at this point. Judging by what I observed last Friday at the Vernon facility, he could well be outside in the large outdoor kennel area as were all the dogs, I was told by a staff member when I asked. The indoor Dog Kennel area was completely dark and the doors were locked. It was a cold, windy day and I was most concerned about two young shorthaired pups and two small adult Pekinese. I read the info sheet and the older dog's age was listed as 11 years, and the younger aged 5. They were spayed and neutered and had been at the Vernon Branch for about a week. I hated seeing them outside, bed and all, toys and a dogloo. I was hoping they were brought in at night. Someone from Pekinese Rescue called the Vernon Branch after I contacted her and told her about my concerns. They were waiting for transport to the Lower Mainland Rescue and when the call was made to check on the plans for these little dogs overnight, a staff member assured her that they would be brought inside. In my opinion, it was too cold to consider leaving them outdoors all day. Hopefully, they are safely in the hands of Pekinese Rescue by now.
