Contrast these two mandates or missions: Mex-Can Rescue and the BC SPCA

Personally I believe all animals are worthy of having their lives saved if possible. That said however, all of us involved in animal welfare choose our paths and receive donations to fund our mandates. Contrast these two mandates or missions:

BC SPCA Mission: The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia.

MEX-CAN Pet Partners This unique organization is a non-profit society based in Victoria, B.C. Canada, whose mission is to help animals in Mexico. Mex-Can works primarily to assist its "partner group" in the city of Guanajuato, "Amigos de los Animales de Guanajuato", to carry out its mission to help animals in that city and its surrounding colonias. It encourages people to get involved and to no longer accept the suffering of animals in Mexico as part of the scenery.

People who donate to Mex-Can Pet Partners are fully aware of where their donations go. People who donate to the BC SPCA expect their donations to go to BC Animals. While the pups from Mississippi are very cute and their lives very worthy, my opinion is they should have stayed part of Hound Rescue as they are not covered under the Mission of the BC SPCA.

For the BC SPCA to take in four dogs from outside of BC may mean that four BC dogs lost their lives, and that is simply not acceptable in my opinion....not ethically and certainly not morally.
