At the risk of offending, am a strong spiritual believer (not to be confused with religion). In every book I have read (and that's a great many), they always point out the fact that man creates his own diseases and downfalls.
Now tell me why any one should expect the innocent animal sentient being to suffer experiments (whether it be a mouse a rat, whatever) to save the life of a humane being (no matter what age). We humans created all this, now we humans have to learn how to undo it, without bringing suffering and death on the innocent sentient beings that share the planet with us.
Do I think killing millions of humans in the concentration camps is different from killing even more millions of animals on our planet? Definately not.
We are all god's creatures (every living thing). And to him we are all important, all equal in his eyes.
