I too have witnessed the horror of chained dogs on the reserves
In Response To: Reserve dogs sites ()

I too have witnessed the horror of chained dogs on the reserves. I have lived in different provinces and sadly, it is the same all over. Yellowknife, in 40 below weather, dogs are chained out 24/7 with little or no shelter. Some poor souls live and die on a very short chain. I live near a reserve in Saanichton where you hear the dogs crying incessantly and recently reported a golden retriever puppy which was in a pen with no shelter just as the November rains started. I reported it with no action taken but learned later that a policeman went in and rescued it. I was also told by a lady that goes on to the reserves to help the dogs that pit bulls are being bred for fighting on another reserve close by. Very sad...... as the only crime these souls are being punished for is being born.
