To the owner/operators of the Greater Vancouver Zoo:
I am saddened to see that the Greater Vancouver Zoo is keeping a mammal that is known to be incredibly sensitive, intelligent and social in such desolate conditions. Elephants naturally live in family groups, where they interact, play, and care for one another, and would never choose to live in an isolated bare dirt enclosure. As caretakers of Tina, you well know this, because you use a photo of a wild elephant in it's natural habitat to lure paying customers into the zoo. If you are too ashamed to use a picture of Tina in her current living conditions, she shouldn't be in them - and you know that.
Since the Greater Vancouver Zoo has stated that they are willing to find a new home for Tina, please send her to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, where she has an open invitation, and has a chance at living out the rest of her life in happiness. Give her what she deserves, as she has given you the better part of her life. Don't send her to another zoo to live out her days in continued boredom and isolation, when you have the ability and obligation to choose better for her.
Sincerely,
Crystal Kerr, Tofino, BC
