In Response To: Does the SPCA think they're CSIS?: Why is DTA4 a secret? (Emma Vandewetering)

My dog "Dani" is an extremely powerful bullmastiffXpitbull who I acquired at the Vancouver SPCA late last year. She was released to me even though she exhibits extreme dog to dog aggression which I was never told about and which I still have to monitor closely every day with muzzles and no off leash time before 3 am.

The woman who spoke with me at the SPCA and assured me that Dani's assessment was normal was named Nadine Gourkow.

I adore Dani to bits and pieces and she is making alot of progress (very slowly) towards not trying to eviscerate every single dogs she sees, but I shudder to think what would have happened if she were put into inexperienced or machismo hands.

I'm still flabbergasted as to why I have an aggressive dog from the SPCA and they're putting down healthy dogs there. A friend of mine adopted a large GSD only to be forced to take him back where he was euthanized. They adopted this dog out, the dog turned out to be very dangerous towards kids and it took a month of my friend bonding with this dog before they destroyed him. Rather backwards. My friend was really upset for quite awhile over that.
