I found this thread a little hard to understand. But something within me just needed to respond. First, I have been bitten by many hardened dogs,hissed and bitten and scratched by frightened cats. I held no dislike/anger for them. I knew there response was through conditioning, fear, anger and/or life experiences. And I have seen many cats and dogs from even worse situations who were sweet as pie. I have heard of very loving animals put to sleep because no one was there to fight for them, and I have heard of animals who were very aggressive who have been saved.

If it was only all black and white. My own experiences with myself and others helps me to understand life is very grey. I personally believe that we are all individuals(animals and people). I have seen a violent offender cry when he saw a squirrel get run over. Does this make him bad or good? I loved Cleo,(a rescued ragdoll from Montana) she was an awesome cat just very sick. I had to make a very horrible choice of having to put her to sleep. Does that make me a murderer? I feel it, I remember her, and I miss her every day. I think different people/animals have different coping mechanisims. To judge someone as good or bad on the way they handle things.....I can not do.

But what I can do today is work with both people and animals and try to help lessen the suffering. Educate all who are willing to listen. About spaying/neutering, vaccinating, abuse, training...whatever needed. When I come across a stray or hurting animal I will help it in whatever way circumstances will allow. When I come across an injured, or crying human I ask if they are OK, or help out in any way that circumstances will allow. I try to have faith that with a little work and perseverance I can make a small contribution to our world. I see alot of people doing great things, and I live to see more. Look at the changes that are starting because people care. That is where I want to focus my energy. Just my opinion.
