We would like to state that we fully support this letter and a ban on pit bulls.

I love dogs, and have volunteered at the Vancouver pound. By far, the dogs who were the most mistreated were pit bulls and by far, the dogs the absolute hardest to place into respectful, loving homes.

Every time I see an ad for pit bulls for sale or pit crosses for sale in the newspaper, I cringe. I wonder who is selling these dogs and who is buying them? It is these dogs who suffer abuse, neglect, and a life of lonliness at the end of a chain. Further, this kind of abuse can lead to tragedy. As both a mother and a teacher, I feel to keep its citizens safe, Vancouver needs to seriously consider the banning of pit bulls as Winnipeg has.
Thank you,

Lori and Cameron Drysdale

The city of Vancouver and the SPCA are not protecting the dogs or the humans by allowing backyard dogs to suffer
