Animal Advocates Watchdog

Absolutely!! Agreed!!

I volunteered at VAS a few years ago as a dog walker. I saw people adopting pit bulls that scared me. AS a matter of fact, we did follow up phone calls and were very concerned with who some of these pits and pit crosses ended up with and when we took our concerns to management, nothing was done.
WHY?
Because if they took the dog back, who is going to adopt a pit? Even the really nice dogs (and I met a load of real sweethearts), no loving family wanted anything to do with given their 'bad' reputation and given their high energy needs.

By far, the absolute hardest dogs to place into loving, caring, and responsible family homes were the pit bulls. A very precious few went into these good homes, but when I walked by the kennels of the many, many pits and pit crosses at the shelter, I shuddered to think of their fate.
