Animal Advocates Watchdog

The SPCA had a choice to give Sophie to Springer Spaniel Rescue

The SPCA had the choice of giving the pup to rescue.
Rescue offered to take her before she was adopted out and ended up returned and being killed by the Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals.
The SPCA should never have adopted her out to even chance having her returned and killed.
She should have gone to rescue the moment she was requested because you are right...no really expensive dog is dumped at the SPCA unless it has problems.
This perfectly illustrates the difference between selling an animal and rescuing it. Rescue work with the animal until it turns around and then rehomes it to the right home.
Unfortunately this didn't happen to this pup...instead she was sold and subsequently killed when she was found to be unmanageable.
The young pup deserved the opportunity to go to rescue and have a happy life....instead it was denied her.

Sadly, what is best for dogs in the SPCA's care, seems to be the last thing the SPCA is willing to do

Secrecy is a diminishing option for the SPCA thanks to the internet
Not human welfare. Not animal welfare. Just SPCA welfare
