We're all in this mess because it was inherently wrong to have dogs fight animals in the first place. When bull and bear baiting was outlawed, the revolting excuses for humans who did this, just switched to dog fighting. It has always been wrong for these breeds to exist.

It was inevitable that the dogs would make it into the mainstream of dog owning, mostly of course, owned by the uneducated under class which is very close to the criminal class of persons who use Pit bulls to guard and fight.

It was like a virus getting out, except the dogs aren't viruses, they are feeling beings and shouldn't just be wiped out like a virus, and yet that is how society protects itself from viruses and will do the same with Pit bulls. I really think defending the breed is cruel to them. Admit they are a dangerous anomaly, try to save the nice ones, and ban the breeding of more.

I am going to make myself unpopular here, but to defend the breeding of pit bulls is not compassionate in my opinion. If the danger can be bred out, leaving only the endearing qualities, that is best, but what are the chances of that when the defenders of the breed are so often criminals and cretins? I am sickened by the number that are born to suffer. I am sickened by the defence of breeding more to suffer.
