It's a good idea in writing...heavy fines and jail time for those that promote and participate in pitbull fighting. BUT....I know from experience that getting someone to admit or come forward about this subject is impossible. We know it exists and we know these dogs suffer daily...but no one will step up to the plate and help put these people away. I tried spca officers... and was told they had no jurisdiction.. apparently the police can not step on the reserves either. What's up with that?? I was going to go and try and rescue two pittys on a reserve that were known to be in trouble but couldn't get ANYONE to come with me. Everyone is tooooo SCARED of the repurcusions. I even had a pitbull rescue to take them...if I could get them. Talking isn't going to do anything, ACTION is. We must get those who witness this horrific injustice to come forward and stand up, we need to stand together and make it know that this HAS to stop! Someone who knows where these fights take place or has seen them has to have the guts to tell. That is the very first step in stopping the pitbull fighting rings.
