Legal Issues (021) — In this module we will build on issues discussed in the General Level course (012). Where as the topics in the General Level course centred mainly around activities within the animal care facility itself, the topics in the Advanced Level course will focus on legal issues encountered when the animal care worker is out in public, (i.e., abuse investigations, entering private property, incident investigation, etc.)

How many of the SPCA's police force have taken the course? Not Special Constable Brad Kuish according to court records. Perhaps if he had he would not be so prone to seizing animals without a warrant, especially healthy animals, or using his own complaint to obtain a warrant to seize as he and Constable Kathy Woodward did in the case of Linda Douglas and James Hill, whose 39 dogs and five horses Kuich had seized in March 2003. At trial, when asked what his training was that qualified him to determine what animals ought to be seized, Kuich admitted he had none. Kuich's training was as an RCMP dog handler - in other words, he is a "crime-buster", not an animal welfarist.
