"At least by having these tests that you hate so much, there are some kind of guidelines for making decisions on who needs to be euthanised."

The tests that are "hated" so much - DTAIV - are hated because they are unscientific, incorrect and result in dogs being euthanized that should be given a chance to get a home. If you have even a basic knowledge of dogs you would not be able to support these tests under any circumstance. These tests were put together in the UK by Rebecca Ledger but they are NOT used by the RSPCA! Maybe the RSPCA knows better.
In fact the method used by the RSPCA has been provided to the BCSPCA without any apparent interest or review. The RSPCA method is a specific and detailed evaluation method that is much more accurate and uses the expertise of people who know the dogs and have the knowledge to know how dogs react when in a shelter environment over a reasonable period of time.
I have made critical comments about these tests which are based on my many years of direct experience with dogs in the BCSPCA facilities and I have read the DTAIV test program from cover to cover. I wonder how many of the BC SPCA employees and /or volunteers can say the same?
