Sorry KD - here is my answer to your question

KD - Years of experience with vets and hearing of other's experiences with vets has made me fairly critical of many of them. Especially the young, gung-ho for the money, ones. There is a glossy monthly magazine just for vets that is almost exclusively about how to milk anxious pet owners for every penny they can get. It made my hair stand on end, but it didn't surprise me as I was very aware of the hot-shots in it for the money only. If we started a thread of stories of vets that have ordered expensive and unnecessary tests, procedures, and surgeries, it would wrap around the world a few times. It is a dirty business that needs the light shone on it. AAS's own vet is one of the good ones, one of the best actually. A man with the experience and decency to know when to suggest further steps and when to wait or when to do nothing. He often charges nothing for the advice to wait and see, even though the client has been willing to mortgage their house to pay for anything he wants. And AAS has plenty of stories of the vets that see a distraught pet owner coming and the $ signs start flashing before their eyes.

But that is a digression. What I was looking for was a critique of the site for things like: does it recommend crate-training, pure-bred purchase (rather than pound purchase), etc. In other words, just the same old stuff. The site as was noticed by someone, is mostly American. That is because the vet has bought the package which is then slightly personalized. It's a marketing tool. I just glanced at it and saw that and was wondering if it was a good one or a bad one. I see the "Pet Gallery" is just stock cute photos, and the links are to Advantage and Hill's (more marketing). No time to look further, but I suspect it is just one big ad.
