BC SPCA: "We do not euthanize animals for lack of space". The Vernon SPCA proves that a lie

How dare the BC SPCA use such misleading language?

Am I supposed to believe that when I walk in to Vernon SPCA and see roughly 75 adult cats up for sale, then return less than three weeks later to find only four adult cats and about 100 kittens, that the Vernon SPCA sold over sixty cats to the residents of a small town in the matter of a couple of weeks?

Well, I don't believe it, despite the fact that a volunteer told me that all the cats got homes, and that Vernon SPCA is no kill. That volunteer was either lying, or is terribly naive.

A few weeks ago I learned the horrible truth from a vet tech who did the killing. Stacks upon stacks of crates of cats were killed.

Why? Well, according to another volunteer, the SPCA had written inane excuses like "sneezed" or "runny eye" in the euth log.

What really should have been written is "No space- lots of kittens coming."

I don't think the BC SPCA Board of Directors realizes just how vile its intake policy is. No one can do honest animal welfare who takes in more than they can save. An unlimited surrender policy feeds all the corruption and dishonesty at the SPCA. It means the SPCA crowds and stresses animals, and it means the SPCA kills animals for space.

Comments like "we do not euthanize animals for lack of space" are fictitious as long as the SPCA refuses to limit its intake to what it can truly save. Only a limited intake policy can allow the SPCA to be truly honest. As it stands now, dishonesty is the root of all that is wrong with the BC SPCA, and I am not convinced that the Board of Directors is aware of this.

It is despicable, and it shows in revolting clarity how morally bankrupt the SPCA still is.
