FROZEN DOGS: The SPCA blames AAS

Dear Mary,
We are always glad to hear from people like yourself who care about animals, as we do. However, please be aware that much of what you read on Animal Advocates is completely inaccurate and malicious, particularly in the case of defamatory comments made about the SPCA. The misinformation posted on the Animal Advocates website is a matter of serious on-going review by the SPCA as it harms our support (and therefore directly impacts the amount of resources available to help the 60,000 abused and abandoned animals in our care). With regard to your specific comment, we follow up on each and every complaint made about mistreated animals and execute search warrant whenever we find an animal in distress. In 2003 we seized more than 1,300 animals from unsafe situations, including numerous chained backyards dogs.
If you would like any further information about our cruelty investigations, I would be happy to provide you with more details.
Wishing you all the best for 2004.
