FROZEN DOGS: Wait a minute........

I understand your frustration. But what are the alternatives to the SPCA, the local pound?

It's unfortunate that the SPCA has it's share of problems. And I understand that a lot more could be done by the SPCA to deal with animals in distress. But right now, in BC, there doesn't seem to be many other organizations that are capable of dealing with the volume of calls that the SPCA deals with, daily.

Perhaps we need tougher laws and by-laws in BC to deal with abusive owners, higher fines, longer penalties. Just my opinion. Some people dismiss the SPCA completely. But I don't believe that is the answer. It the SPCA were to close it's doors, tomorrow, 1000's of animals would have to be put down and many more would be left out in the cold at the hands of abuse owners, something which really upsets me, I am sorry to say.

Take care,
