Animal Advocates Watchdog

Goodbye Misty, I truly regret thinking for one moment you were safe *PIC*

The last few months of Misty's life were not kind. Misty became an inmate of the Surrey SPCA around October 29, 2003. She is described by the SPCA (below) as a wonderful and precious senior dog.

She had no major health problems and the Surrey SPCA did not even feel it necessary to run a blood panel to check her health before putting her up for adoption. In fact Misty had no health concerns at all noted on her Petfinder Notes.

Unfortunately for Misty her time in Surrey was running out and rescue was contacted. Before a foster/permanent home could be found in rescue Surrey SPCA placed her in one of their foster homes on December 14, 2003.

The general public and many in rescue would read this and think Misty was now safe and cared for. Unfortunately for Misty that was not the case.

Misty was killed December 17, 2003 after walking into the shelter with her tail still wagging during a training session for veterinary technicians who were reported to me as all standing around crying while the procedure was done.

Goodbye Misty, I truly regret thinking for one moment you were safe.

Misty - FOSTER
Dog
Shepherd Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Notes: OCTOBER 29- Volunteer comments: Misty is a very sweet older lady. I always find it sad when older dogs find their way to the shelter, especially when they are as sweet as Misty. She loved being on her walk and got along real well with the other dogs. Walked excellent on a leash and knows basic commands. Takes treats gentle as possible. If you are looking for a wonderful, adoring dog who will provide you with unconditional love, come take Misty home.
DECEMBER 10 - Volunteer comments: This very sweet older lady was in foster care and now she is back at the shelter. Please do not pass up the chance of giving an older dog a loving home, it will do your heart some good. Misty will repay you with unconditional love for the rest of her life. She would make a great additional pet, as gets along excellent with all other dogs. All she wants to do is go to a home that will take her on walks and let her curl up by the fire. Everyone at the shelter would love to see Misty find a new home soon. Come adopt Misty!
**Misty's adoption fee has been waived since she is a precious senior.**
