I heard about the Pet Survivor Plan at least a year ago. The "Silver Plan" costs a minimum of $25,000. and the "Gold Plan" costs a minimum of $75,000. For each pet! They negotiate large animals separately, so obviously it's more for them.
The immediate implication in my eyes was that if you do not give the SPCA huge sums of money in your will, your animal will not be taken care of.
I ran out and checked the brake-lines on my car (I worked for the SPCA and knowing what I know, Ididn't want my pets to end up in an SPCA if I suddenly died!) and then I e-mailed the SPCA. This was long after the SPCA had refused to answer any of my attempts at correspondence.
Within a day, I was e-mailed back by the SPCA, saying that they would send over their Planned Giving Representative (I think it was a Mr. John Houle) to my home, to discuss my financial plans.
Suddenly, they wanted to speak with me!!
