Victoria SPCA - Taking in Pit Bulls from Ontario!

Victoria SPCA - Taking in Pit Bulls from Ontario!

Story on CH News 6:00 pm and 11:00pm, Nov 18. “Who let the dogs out”.

Six, 10 - 14 week old pit bull puppies were shown being flown in from Hamilton, Ontario to the Victoria SPCA. Some of the statements from the story included:
“the puppies were screened for aggressive traits before leaving Ontario”.
“ this is why the SPCA is here, to help those that nobody else can help”.

Comments:
1. I don’t think that there is any way to check a puppy to know for sure it will not be aggressive when it is an adult.
2. The BC SPCA should be helping dogs in BC to get homes, surely there are other resources for the Ontario dogs. How many dogs in BC will not get homes because of the import of these pups? If pit bulls are so “easy” to find homes for why is there at least one (Tyson), that has been in the Victoria shelter for almost a year? There are more dogs in BC of all breeds and types that will not get homes that should be helped by the BCSPCA before importing more from out of province. Other rescues, shelters and pounds in BC could use help to find homes for the dogs that are in their care! The BCSPCA is just compounding the existing problem of finding good homes for pit bulls in BC!

More shameless product promotion by the BC SPCA - this is NOT animal welfare though the SPCA will fool many people into thinking it is
Why are they not bringing in the adult dogs if they really want to help "the ones that cannot speak for themselves"?
Why is the SPCA being so wrong-headed in accepting Ontario refugees?
I can't believe that there are no homeless dogs anywhere in this province
Does any of your bitching actually help the situations your concerned about?

What's all the fuss? With Ontario and the Victoria SPCA supplying the Pit Bull market on Vancouver Island, there's no need to save adults

Re: Will he be killed today?
Thanks to the power of the internet and networking this dog has been saved from death. But who gets helped by the Biscuit Fund and who doesn't?
It appears to me that when the hard questions come their way, the SPCA simply ignores them
