Kindness would be to let that calf run around beside its mother

Kindness would be to let that calf run around beside its mother, free,(to run and kick up its heels at nothing, the way calfs do) until it is ready to be weaned. A crate is a crate no matter what the size, it's solitary confinement. No living thing is meant to live its life in solitary confinement.

I know many meat-cheese eaters, (but they won't eat veal) who donate money to groups that are working for the better treatment of food animals.
We will never do away with all the meat eaters in the world (and yes if we own a pet, we contribute to the meat industry).

But we can do away with the cruel ways farmers, ranchers, the trucking industry and slaughter houses, treat food animals.

Although I know of no humane way to kill another living thing.
