My husband and I have donated thousands and thousands of dollars over the years to the SPCA. I myself have had the frustrating experience of reporting such sad neglect and abuse of animals, only to be told that if they are fed and watered and not visibly beaten etc. that they can do nothing. These situations tear me apart. Sometimes I can't sleep at night- thinking of the dog down the street who I know is shivering in the cold rain as I lay in my bed. If there is a problem in their organization- and clearly there is- then they need to reassess and reorganize and rethink their mandate- they OWE this to the people who support them. They should not try to just coverup and posture with a case of defamation. If the AAS is criticizing- they are only voicing the opinions of those who support animal welfare societies such as my husband and I. I'VE complained to the AAS about my frustration with the SPCA. This problem has been made known to the AAS BY THE PEOPLE WHO CALL THEM - like me. Money is given too the SPCA to help animals- the idea that they are using this money in this pompous defamation lawsuit is sickening. It saddens me greatly.
