AAS should stop criticising the SPCA

First of all I want to say that I think it is great that there are groups out there like yours that fighting for the rights of abused and neglected animals. I happen to have the 2 dogs (best in the world) who came from Animal Advocates.

However, I do not understand why the Okanagan Animal Welfare Foundation and Animal Advocates places so much of their time and money into fighting the SPCA rather that working with it to change procedures and legislation.

I would think that everyone agrees that there are not enough goods homes out there for all the animals in need. Why is there such a focus on not putting animals to sleep? Is it better that they live long unhappy lives where no one wants them? If tomorrow, we were to save every poor animal that is abused and neglected in this province, where would they all go? I guess I just don't understand why there is focus fighting the SPCA rather than working with them or putting together animal care education programs?
