Letter to the Province about raw diet and the causes of dangerous dogs

I would like to set the record straight with regards to the comments made by 3 yr old Cody Fontaine's mother. She stated that the owners of the 2 visiting Rottweillers "used to feed them raw meat because they wanted them vicious". In fact, feeding raw meat in no way makes a dog vicious and is simply a healthy alternative to feeding commercial dog food and is recommended by many vets today. What makes dogs vicious, is leaving them alone in yards, pens, on chains, or loose in warehouses as was the case with these 2 Rottweillers. Isolation and neglect is one of the root causes to dog aggression, poor breeding being another, and it is the keeping of dogs in such a manner along with irresponsible breeding that should be banned, not any particular breed of dog.

WHY is not more being done by the SPCA and municipalities? How many kids are going to die or be maimed?
