Re: JRT's are easy to sell, that's why

I absolutley, absolutely agree. I am totally suspicious of the spca for one huge reason....they have never drafted a control of breeding by-law. They have talked a lot, but never have they tried to control all the breeding of pits and rotties and shepherds. Given that anyone can breed anything and there are no laws to control this, it's a wonder more scumbags aren't trying to make their $50 off one of these breeds of pups.
I have done much volunteer work at shelters...but can't stomach going in anymore...you get one pit or rottie a good home and 10 more come in. This whole supposed no-kill shelter idea of the spca's is a no-win situation until there are less dogs being bred. As most of us know, it is rare to find a good committed home...what is the point of not putting the hordes of rotties etc. down only to turn around and sell them to someone who will keep the dog at the end of a chain????

The spca can't be stupid enough to not realize exactly what they are doing...they seize the dogs that are easy to sell and call up the media for pr...the whole no-kill idea I'm sure was for pr...not what was best for the animals...the only thing best for the animals is going to be trying to match the number of animals needing homes to the number of good homes out there looking for a pet...right now that ratio is grossly out of wack.
