SPCA Signs Agreement with BC Cattlemen
The BC Cattlemen’s Association and the BC SPCA have signed a new agreement aimed at improving the welfare of beef cattle in the province.

Under the new agreement the two organizations will partner on several initiatives to ensure the health and welfare of BC cattle, including the provision of expertise by the Cattlemen’s Association to SPCA Special Provincial Constables who are investigating complaints of cruelty, abuse or neglect involving beef cattle. Through the agreement, the SPCA and BC Cattlemen’s Association will also encourage mutual participation of members in regional and provincial meetings and on-going dialogue between the BCCA and the SPCA’s Farm Animal Welfare program.

In 1995 W.F.I.D.O. failed to get any interest from the SPCA for puppy-selling standards

This is a wealthy, powerful group with lawyers and government lobbyists
B.C. Dog Breeders Association has had no success in working with the SPCA to draft standards
I wish the BCCA well, but I also warn them to beware of the fox
