The fact is that yes there are some very real cases of cruelty but that does NOT change the facts that the spca's are abusive and have the support of the local authorities in 99% of the cases because it is a widespread misconception that the "rescuers" are a)experts and b) honest people with no personal agenda. This couldn't be further from the truth. I used to be an ardent supporter of the SPCA's believing that they were the good guys. Then a very dear friend of mine went through a very horrifying raid and seizure. I knew her and her kennel for years and knew the kind of devotion and care her dogs received from her. NOT ONE dog needed to be seen by a vet or was in need of any sort of medical attention - yet every one of them was seized, she was arrested and one year later is STILL going though the hell of our court system! Her life was completely destroyed in the process. As for the dogs the SPCA actually LOST several of them before they could even be adopted out. Then many were adoopted into very inapropriate homes and disappeared or were returned. Several are still in cages in the shelters a year after being seized! You don't think THAT is cruelty??? There have been so many illegal doings on the part of the SPCA and the DA's office that now they can't let her be found not guilty because of what the repurcussions could be to their own careers. They are out for blood and will stop at nothing to get a conviction. I have never been so horrified in my life and I am a well traveled, very educated man that has seen much injustice in this world but this really has me floored.
These people need to be controlled and the laws made much clearer as to exactly what constitutes abuse.
In my friend's case she was reported by someone looking to "get even" with her over a personal dispute. The only thing wrong with her dogs were that four of the young ones had worms and were thin. The worms situation was in the process of being treated with a five day wormer!
Over a common case of worms a woman's entire life was destroyed and she lost everything she owned, lost many friends, her job, her possessions and at the end of it all her greatest love in life her beloved dogs.
Stop being so naive.
