Animal Advocates Watchdog

Ho Hum, out with the old, in with the new

So once again the Kamloops SPCA gets out the broom and sweeps out a lot of useless cats, the vaccinated ones who won't get sick along with the unvaccinated. What's the big deal eh? There's plenty more where they came from. This is the SPCA at work.

It's interesting to get a glimpse of all the killing that used to go on without the public ever being the wiser except a few animal activists who were never listened to. My personal experience at a few SPCAs tells me that killing 500 cats a year was no big deal for a long time. This went on for a lot of years, and almost no one knew. Once the SPCA can't carry on in the old way, what is it going to do? There had better be some big policy changes happening or the SPCA may not survive.

Kamloops SPCA to kill 60 cats
I took a distemper cat from the infected Vernon SPCA and it didn't occur to me to kill her
And what if it were 60 dogs?

40, 50, 60... and more? Excess cats are as big a pest problem in most of BC as rats and mice are
"We will not turn an animal away"- a great business slogan
A more fitting slogan could read "easy and effortless disposal"
"No Interest" - "No Service Charges" - "Easy Payment Plan" - "After Sales Service"
It seems to me that shelters which safeguard health should be one of the highest priorities
