They are not in foster homes anymore, they are taking up room at the Nanaimo SPCA

We were told that they were brought in by a Nanaimo SPCA employee who does hound rescue. It's not unusual for SPCA employees to have a "some dogs are better than others" attitude, what is known as a "breed-brain", an attitude toward dogs shared by breeders. Nothing is too good for "their" breed. Other breeds can die for lack of homes. And do. Mutts are especially of no interest to this mind.

We phoned the Nanaimo SPCA to enquire about buying one. They are not in foster homes anymore, they are taking up room at the SPCA. The SPCA is selling them for $135. We were told that they have no time for home checks. Nanaimo SPCA recently sold a 5 month pup to people who said they would use a trolley line as they had no fence.

Contrast these two mandates or missions: Mex-Can Rescue and the BC SPCA
Would you put a stop to this at any point?
