Animal Advocates Watchdog

This is the " Breed Brain" you are talking about. I am amazed that I hadn't recieved ANY phone call to hear the other side of the story....Well, here it is.
Yes, I do volunteer for Hound rescue along with Boxer rescue. I also have 4 dogs which include a rotti, rotti/shep, pointer/boxer and a young boxer. They are ALL rescues. Two are Mutts....Notice there are no hounds in the picture.I did get an e-mail from a rescue down south asking anyone in North America to help. These pups were in a high kill shelter and their time was up. The manager was e-mailing all people to help save these pups. They have been in rescue since very young and had no training and are not purebreds . They didn't adopt them out to hunters as they wanted them adopted out as family pets. Thats why they were never adopted. I e-mailed them back and said if you can get them up here, we would be able to find them homes.I was the only person in North America that offered so they took the plunge and with the help of MANY rescue groups, brought them up here. It cost the Nanaimo SPCA nothing.I had no foster homes and the one I did manage to find was unable to care for them any more because the hounds are escape artists and kept getting out. Yes, the hounds are cute and adoptable but they also come with alot of baggage. We do not SELL any dog, we adopt them out. The 5 month old pup you are talking about did not get SOLD to any one that had a running line, they did no such thing and the home visit to that specific home, I did myself ( We do home visits even though we are so short staffed)had a very adequate fence. It wasn't totally up when we adopted him to the people but we told them to have it up asap and we will be checking. Well, they put the fence up and also the puppy is spoiled rotten and going to obedience.About the heart worm....I asked the Mississippi manager to make sure she tested them for heart worm and she never did so they are being tested here( Which the adoption fee will pay for)
I know this will not satisfy you and it dosen't matter. All I do is work FOR the animals. I didn' want to see them killed and I don't want to see ANY of them killed! I can't save them all but the ones I can I'll try my best....they were brought to my attention, and that my goal in life is to save the lives that are unwanted and destined to die.

Contrast these two mandates or missions: Mex-Can Rescue and the BC SPCA
Would you put a stop to this at any point?
