Another one down!

Just to be clear: "education" and "prevention" are BC SPCA mandates and are unrelated to any contract the City of Surrey even had with the SPCA, though Councillor Watts carefully makes it seem that the City of Surrey and the SPCA haven't completely ended their contractual relationship.

Yes they have! Another one down!

District of North Vancouver, Langley, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Delta, now Surrey and soon Richmond.

The once mighty SPCA dog disposing business empire is going down the tubes. But not without a fight from the SPCA to hang onto it...and all its attendant evils.

There has been no announcement of a contract being given to anyone else so Surrey must be planning to operate its own municipal pound as does the City of Vancouver, New Westminster, Coquitlam and the District of North Vancouver.

Langley chose to contract with the Langely Animal Protection Society and Delta has chosen to contract with the Delta Humane Society. No matter which model is used, the benefit to the animals will be huge.
