In 2003 the newly established Coquitlam Pound killed 16 feral cats and in 2004 with assistance and training from Maverick Cats the Coquitlam Pound killed 1 feral cat who was medically ill.

The Coquitlam Pound actively works with rescue groups and their cat adoption rate is 18%.
