No employee anywhere is expected to work without job description, why then does the SPCA expect the volunteers to work under such conditions. Volunteers are confused and must call upon the staff that has no time to deal with such matters, this then fosters strained relations between the volunteers and the staff. The limited and inadequate job descriptions that exists is impossible to adhere to and therefore is not valid.
This conflicts with the SPCA Code of Ethics: Point 4)
Solution: Create a reasonable job description for the volunteers.
Symptoms: Disgruntled volunteers who do not perform at peak efficiency and are less than enthusiastic and frequent volunteer turnaround
