Due to poor working conditions the staff and volunteers frequently mistreat the public. Conversations are brief, curt, a no information is offered that has not been asked for. In many instances the personnel are rude to the patrons.
This conflicts with the SPCA Code of Ethics: Point 2)
Solution: Improve the working enviroment as suggested above. Provide training for volunteers in dealing with patrons.
Symptoms: Many people view the SPCA as an organization that treats the public rudely and would never look to the SPCA for information or advice. They leave in an unpleasant mood and are less likely to return, this may affect the number of animals that are adopted and funds that are donated.
