Abandoned? Report the person.

The link you referred to is to a posting of yours from the past. You wrote it so reading is not required by you. It is for others so they know what I was referring to. The point of my posting is if shelters disappear or operate with a closed-door policy what you found will become far more commonplace. I too am concerned for the cats dumped, especially the 3 that have not been found.

I am also concerned that your philosophy and that of AAS will become a reality. If so, I predict thousands will suffer as a result. That is what I am most worried about. I am not simply trying to disagree with you I am trying to have one of two things occur. Either you show me the light and thereby alleviate my fears or I convince you of the errors of your way.

I am not yelling these are quotes from some of your postings.

”THAT IS THE SOLE MEANS OF ANIMAL CONTROL IN THIS AREA AND MOST OF THE OTHERS THAT I WORK ON. IT SOUNDS CRAZY BUT TRUE. IF THERE WERE OTHER MEANS IN THESE AREAS, I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE STARTED SENDING ANIMALS OUT TO BE SPAYED/NEUTERED OR PICKING PUPPIES OUT OF DITCHES”

“IT REALLY IS ALREADY THROUGHOUT THE PROVINCE, JUST HIGHER IN SOME AREAS THAN OTHERS. IT'S NOT AS SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE DOGS LIVING IN COLONIES IN EAST VAN, BUT CATS ARE EASIER FOR MOST PEOPLE TO IGNORE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS WHY IT APPEARS THERE ARE MORE CATS THAN DOGS LIVING LIKE THIS. BUT IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU GO”

“I'LL ONLY DEAL WITH REAL EMERGENCIES, THE TRULY HOMELESS DOG, THE INJURED, ABANDONED ANIMALS, THE ONES THAT ARE IN DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES”

“Puppies growing up in drainage ditches, becoming feral and being "rolled over" as the locals called it, which means run over by cars, quite a common occurance”

These types of statements will be heard frequently shortly after the doors close. Is that acceptable? As it will increase, how is the abandonment issue resolved in your mind?

What is it you do not care whether or not I endorse, dumping the cats or taking them to a shelter? I pick neither, but since one is required, I vote for the shelter.

As I stated in the earlier posting my advice is to inform the SPCA of this individual’s identity as soon as possible. It cannot do any harm to do so. As I said, something may come of it. There are a couple of laws that come into play in the case you describe. They are the Criminal Code of Canada, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, the Wildlife Act and possibly a municipal bylaw.
