Just to put BCSPCA Directors et al. salaries in perspective. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) a HUGE animal welfare organization that deals with national as well as international animal welfare issues. They have their 990's on the internet www.guidestar.org - They brought in over $65 million in 2000 and look what they have achieved with that money.

Their TOP EXCECUTIVES are paid the following!!

(Note salaries are US Dollars. Also noting that most of them live on the East Coast in and around Washington DC area which is not a cheap place to live.)

Wayne Pacelle (Senior VP Full Time)
$106, 896 Plus
$6,499 Contributions to employee benefit plans and deferred compensation

John Grandy (Senior VP Full Time) $117,616 PLUS
$13,908 Contributions to employee benefit plans and deferred compensation

Andrew Rowan (Senior VP Full Time) $136,450 PLUS
$8,909 Contributions to employee benefit plans and deferred compensation

Jan Hartke (Executive Director Full Time)$111,500 PLUS
$8,908 Contributions to employee benefit plans and deferred compensation

John Kullberg (Executive Director Full Time) $106,090 PLUS
$7,944 Contributions to employee benefit plans and deferred compensation

The SAN FRANCISCO SPCA brought in over $17 million in 2000. San Francisco said to be the most expensive place to live on the West Coast. Their Executive Director Nadine Geiner is paid $107,725 PLUS $8,788.

And you all think that DB and his cronies are worth the money!!!

AAS: BC SPCA CEO Douglas Brimacombe makes $132,000 annually (plus perks?) and this salary is going to be reviewed shortly we have been told. Take a look at the SPCA dirty hovels it calls shelters and the posh vehicles they are given and other perks like retreats at Harrison Hot Springs
