BC SPCA
Sirs:
Two years ago I applied for the job of Manager of the Salmon Arm SPCA and was turned down. (I lived in Vernon at the time) Perhaps if I had said that I supported breeding and mutulation of animals I would have at least had an interview. I do not believe in cruelty to any animal at any cost. Mankind (an oxymoron if I ever heard one) has domesticated these animals thus it is up to us to care for them.
To date we have done a very poor job. If it weren't for groups like Animal Advocates in B.C. and ARF in Calgary Alberta no-one would be looking after these abused creatures and the SPCA would not have been exposed for the uncaring, money grabbing killing machine it is.
I can tell you that I used to give to the SPCA every year and in the name's of friends who had died. I am so ashamed. I had no idea what you actually stood for.
I noticed when I lived in Vernon, that the officers of the SPCA drove around in very nice sports utility vehicles while the animals lived in deplorable conditions. And when I reported abuse to a couple of dogs I was ignored and told not to help the animals in no uncertain terms!
The Manager in Salmon Arm should be fired for what she is doing. I also have seen her ad for dogs for sale in the Calgary newspaper under PETS.
Have you ever heard the screams from doberman pups when their ears are mutulated or do you care? When these people say the animals feel no pain I think we should do the same thing to them to prove a point.
It is time that you lived up to your name. Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In fact you have been the Society for the prevention of kindness to animals.
Please fire that woman from Salmon Arm and hire someone who understands animals and has some compassion and is not in it for the money.
