Subject: banning of yard dogs

Mayor Campbell:

Please enact legislation to ban yard dogs. The irreparable damage done to the young woman in Vancouver is but a tip of the ice-berg. Dogs that are not socialized to live with humans, and are in fact trained or bred to attack are not safe. Through no fault of their own, they may attack without any provocation. No yard is sufficiently enclosed to insure that they never get out.

The next occurrence will be directly related to you. Now that you are aware of the problem, you will be responsible if you have not passed laws to prevent the next inevitable mauling or death.

Sincerely,
Helen Hughes
