The Mayor and Council
The City of Vancouver
Dear Mayor Campbell and Councillors,
I am asking you to adopt laws against the keeping of unattended yard/guard dogs in Vancouver.
These dogs often become fearful and aggressive from the extreme neglect, isolation and lack of socialization. Dogs are one of the most social beings on earth so this treatment is very cruel and damaging to say the least. When these mistreated dogs escape from their yards, and this happens all the time, there is no telling what will happen, and obviously Shenica White has become another victim of this.
Animal Advocates Society of BC has worked extremely hard (with the report "It's Time") trying to get the message across to the City what harm this is causing to the dogs and the public's safety, but no action has been taken by the city so far. I urge you to take action immediately towards this issue.
Sincerely,
Sarah Middleton
