On CTV News tonight Bill Good did an interview with Gary Gibson of Custom Canine. He said the yard where the dogs were kept is a perfect example of the kind of situation that turns a dog aggressive. He talked about the size, the exposure, and the threat dogs feel when alone in a yard. They bark at anything that goes by, and when they get a reaction of the threat running away, they feel more secure, and they learn that their aggressive behavior scares away the threat. The lawyer who Shenica's family is using, will be using Gary's testimony and expert opinion, as part of their case.
A group called Dickens Community Group (Tim was their spokesman) had several typed pages of written and carefully documented complaints they had made about these dogs. Nothing was ever done. It sounded like the complaints were made to a community police office, and that office can't even find the records, due to a very poor filing system.
